Friday...

It's Friday morning, 10:00 am.
Everything seems fine today.
Jose Angel and Marvin came by to get some money for breakfast.
Jose Angel answered an email to a friend in the States who needed to be cheered up after the loss of a relative.
Until a month ago he didn't know what an mp3 player was .
He hadn't been near a computer in his life.
Now he sends emails all by himself.

On Monday he plans to go to Managua for a couple of days.
His goal is to try to get hold of his birth certificate.

He knows he was born in 1994 at 4:00am.
He knows it was that early because his mom always told him how dark it still was! But he has no clue about the month or the day.
It would be nice to give him a birthday party, as he's never had one!
But the real reason he's going is that he would like to change schools.
The school where he is going now only uses one book. It's the only school that would accept him without the official papers.
Next school year (January) he would like to go to a school that uses several books (Spanish, maths, science, ...) This kid has got ambition!

He's got it all figured out...
He's going to wear his old worn out gear so that they can not steal his nice clothes.
He will drop by in the Center where he used to go a while ago to find food and maybe a place to stay for two nights.
He will try to do the necessary to get the papers he needs for his birth certificate.
Later he will try to get a Cedula (official ID card) with this paper.
This Cedula will make his life a lot easier.
Only, it is not going to be easy to get hold of one.

He'll drop by his mother, whom he hasn't seen in over a year. She is epileptic.
And his Abuela (grandmother) who doesn't like Jose Angel. She's a diabetic.
It won't be possible to stay there, but he wants to drop by anyway to greet his family.

And then he will go to Mercado Oriental to buy a small bag of beads.
After his last success (see: una buena cena - august 27) he really got into making macrame bracelets. On top of That, Will sent over $40 for bracelets that Jose Angel had made. Enough for plenty of days of food! With the beads he's going to make e new type of bracelets.
The beads have initials on them. One initial per bracelet.
If any of you are interested in ordering... here's the email:

It seems a lot to do for a 14 year old.
Especially because he wants to get back before noon on wednesday.
In time to get ready for art classes!
He wouldn't want to miss those!
