Not such a good day...

Jose Angel just came by to say that some of the Chavalos were taken away to jail earlier today.
They were all playing futbol (soccer) in the street, when a police truck drove by and started chasing all the guys.
Most of them (Jose Angel, Ernesto, Francisco, ...) could escape, but some (Marvincito, ...) were taken to the police headquarters.
Apparently they don't need to give any reason to lift somebody from the street.
Jose Angel told me not to worry. Marvin didn't do anything wrong.
So, it's probably only to do some chores in the yard of the police office.
Clean up the dirt and garbage they left in the last couple of months.
Cut the grass or some other chores that they prefer some others to do.
Usually the guys don't even mention it any more!
Jose Angel of 15 had to do it a short while ago.
They don't get any food, payment or even water for their effort.
And... this is the law doing this!
I read a couple of days ago that the Police has to be run on a lot less money than all the previous years because of a cash flow problem.

I have more news now about Marvin.
They took him to the playa at the lake where he and 17 others needed to clean the beach for the tourists.
After 5 hours, he said, he only got the air that he breathed.
Not even a glas of water.
He had been working in full sun!

Jose Angel had been working in a mansion for 8 hours.
Cutting the grass, filling up a pit with sand, getting all the rubbish out...
All he got was a piece of bread and C$10 ($0.50)!
He was so disappointed.
He said... I've been working like a horse.
I'm scuffed all over from working, and this is all I got, showing me the 10 cordobas.
