Mercedes' family called yesterday to let us know that she had a high fever and excruciating pains in her abdomen.
They asked for some money to take a taxi to the hospital and some painkillers.
Turned out that she had acute appendicitis.
Luckily she got in the hospital on time, and they immediately operated on her.
She's recovering now.
But because they don't have electronic monitors like in the States for example, they ask a family member to stay the night.
Bosco volunteered, but this morning he told me that the place is infested with mosquitoes, and that he didn't sleep a wink. I gave them repellent, because they didn't have the money to buy it.
Mercedes was lucky to get to the hospital on time.
And lucky to be able to make good use of the financial help that you all have been sending.
Just imagine how people suffer or even die without this kind of help.
So, from Mercedes and her family, thank you all for helping!
