A ray of light at the end of the tunnel?

First of all... thank you all for your support!!!
Your emails and donations were so important to Jose Angel and his family.
They always are, but the sooner that we can get Jose Angel out of there and back to the normal routine of a 15 year old, the better!

Eynar went to Managua, but he couldn't talk to his brother. His aunt could, very briefly.
The good news is: Jose Angel's doing quite well!
He said: tell everybody not to worry!
This is how it goes in Nicaragua.

In the meanwhile I found out what the real problem is: ME.
Doña Miriam can not understand that a Gringo would help all these people without wanting something back in return. And I have to say that I don't know (m)any Nicaraguans who would donate anything more than a peso to a poor guy in front of the church just to feel good after Mass!

Anyway... I talked to Doña Adela, who lives in front of the house of Jose Angel and his brothers.
She told me that she had predicted these complications. And thinking back... she did, indeed!
She is related to a good lawyer who is going to help us get through this.

I am so glad that she and the brothers get along so well.
She told me that she went over to the house on the day that their mom and step dad came by to inspect the house. They really liked what they saw!

On that day the parents also came by the hotel to (finally) get to know me.
We had a long and pleasant talk. And they were very grateful for all of the things that we (all you guys out there!) had done for their family and in particular for their sons.

Doña Adela is going by all the neighbors of the house in order to have a petition signed.
It says that the brothers live freely in the house. Nobody is keeping them locked up.
They can come and go whenever they want.

The petition also says that the brothers are fine people. No drugs, alcohol or glue!
Everything that we could think of, like the parents approving, is in there.

Hopefully this, along with the letter that the school of Jose Angel will supply this coming Monday, will be enough to convince that nobody is after their organs, that they are not in prostitution, and that there is no trafficing of persons.

Keep your fingers crossed!

On Monday or tuesday, depending on when we can get hold of the paper from the school, we will all go to Doña Miriam in Masaya.
Eynar, his aunt, Doña Adela and myself.

One of the accusations also was that I had told the media (via this blog) about this whole situation.
What could I do...
Jose Angel is locked up, and there are 30 people wondering what is going on.
Not saying anything only makes people more worried.
And all of your emails are keeping Jose Angel's spirit up.
He loves to hear from you!

Please Doña Miriam...
We all mean well with the street kids.
Today we handed out a lot of hot meals to the Granada Street kids.
Not with my money...
With money donated with a warm heart by people from all over the globe. People who care about the street children of Granada.
We have some Christian organisations who have sent boxes with clothes, financial help, and one Catholic School asked all their pupils to chip in for buying the whole series of the Harry potter books. The teacher of that school is here right now with a huge suitcase of clothes, donated by his pupils, AND the last two books of the Harry potter series!!!

I will take my notebook with all the dates and numbers of all the donations ever made!
Hopefully this will solve the misunderstanding!

In the meanwhile...
Keep on sending emails... keep on reading this blog... tel your friends and family about it, and do visit the sponsors above and on the left of this message, as this helps us as well!!
