Nothing special has been happening lately. So I thought I'd go to the market and take some pictures for the blog.
When I arrived, a lady from a nearby meat stand asked me if I knew that Marvincito had passed away.
I didn't...
Marvincito always took care of the distribution of the hot meals, until a week ago.
He'd lost a lot of weight and looked very unhealthy.
He hardly ate, only sniffed glue.
His sister came by a week ago to pick him up and take him home.
I gave them some money for the bus ride and some food.
Now they tell me that he's dead.
It is not certain yet, though.
I've heard many stories about street children disappearing.
After a couple of weeks you hear that they died, and then suddenly they show up again for the meals!
Alexander was one of those "reborn" boys!
He'd lived in Segovia, up north, for a while when the rumor spread that he'd died.
But it is possible though that Marvin did die ...
Maybe I'll send somebody over to Masaya to go and check with his family.
It would be another blow for his family...
A couple of years ago, his father, who was a baker in his own bakery, was shot and killed during a robbery.
Last year his younger brother died. He got paralyzed after an accident.
In the hospital they needed to relocate a broken arm, but something went wrong with the sedation, and he spent his days in a wheelchair thereafter.
He was only eighteen when he died.

And now possibly Marvin...
I will investigate and let you know...
His buddies were all very sad when they heard the news about Marvin.
Only a couple of weeks ago Marvin gave the money from his meal to Doña Esperanza, for the burial of her sister.
And now he might be dead himself...
