The week...

Several sick people this week. Sore throats, coughing, fever...
Nothing too serious, luckily enough.

Some aspirin and a syrup usually did the trick.

Only Gabriel needed a series of shots.
But he too will be better in a couple of days.

It is incredible how these children come here to ask for some money, usually a dollar or two, for medication. Very embarrassed, and telling me they wouldn't eat the Saturday hot meals for two months if I'd let them have the medication they need.

Luckily for them, we are having enough money in the "Chavalos fund" at the moment to help everybody out.
I know my kids by know. They've showed me their respect, and they realize that they could loose the benefit of the meals if they mess up!
Furthermore, they always come by and show me the pills and syrups they bought.

Not only the street children are happy with the meals.
Doña Esperanza (Lady Hope in English, I love her name!) who is raising her grand daughter, is very happy with all the business she gets from all the children.

She's still very generous...
When there's somebody who's hungry, but not on the list, she gives them some food too.
Just like she used to do from way before the free meals existed.
This 'Granny' has her heart in the right place...
Just like all of you!
