Hello there!

Not too many things happened this week... Which probably is a good thing!
Gabriel went to visit his family in Managua and needed bus fare and a little something to buy some rice and beans for during his stay there.
He won't be back for about two weeks or so.
In the meanwhile, Ernesto will try to win Doña esperanza's trust again by asking her in a friendly way if he can have Gabriel's meal while he's not here.
Whatever she decides, I will fully respect her decision.

For the rest, only the usual stuff: cuts and bruises, pills for all kinds of aches and against diarrhea.

I also sent a box of memories of the deceased boys to "papa Frank" in the States containing some personal items like a cap, some old pictures, newspaper clippings and... a bracelet.
The bracelet belonged to Eynar, whom drowned on Good Friday.
He had given it to me after we went through a lot of trouble, time and effort to get his younger brother back to Granada when he was locked up for three months in Managua.
This happened llast year and Jose Angel had to re-do the whole school year because of that.
Anyway, Eynar gave it to me as a token of our friendship.

It is a simple rubber bracelet...
He had two, but he told me that he wanted to share it with me...
The second one is around his wrist in his final resting place.

Papa Frank felt bad that I wanted to give it to him, but I told him that I gladly did so.
Especially after all what he had done for Eynar and his three brothers.
He had never actually met Eynar, but considered him to be one of his closest friends.

That's why I wanted him to have the bracelet.
I have so many things and memories to remember him by.

Keep reading the blog... see you soon!
