Doña Esperanza up and about ...

Much to my surprise, Doña Esperanza came by this morning.
She missed being on the market, cooking, but mostly she missed all her clients from her comedor.
So she passed by there today to greet everybody on her "special Chavalo day".
She came by the hotel to say hello.
I noticed that she had lost some weight, and she needed the support from her granddaughter to walk.
She told me that from next Saturday, she would be on her regular place again... cooking.
Almost three months early.
She said she knows, but she cant sit at home being bored!
I had a feeling she would be back early, but I never thought it would be THIS early!
As one can imagine, she is still very week and still needs to take lots of pills and vitamins.
She therefore asked for a small loan to go to the pharmacy.
She couldn't believe it when I told her that there was still some money put aside for her.
I saw her make a big sign of the cross and thank the Good Lord with both hands up in the air, for this unexpected surprise...

So... in a week, she will be back on the one place where she belongs...
Her old food stand on the market.
She's one tough granny!
