Heavy rains...

Many street children have been coming by lately with colds, fungus, a sore throat, ...
A lot has to do with the cold weather (26·C which is cold for here) and the heavy rains.

The past couple of days 54 Nicaraguans have lost their lives because if these rains.
More than 8000 homes are flooded, thousands of people have no place to stay.

They expect the rains to last for two more months.
The big lake in the center of Managua is about to flow over.

This year is an extra tough year for the street children.
It's never nice of course, but this is almost unbearable.
Today, I took care of someone's foot that was infected with fungus so badly that it was bleeding.
Their clothes don't get the chance to dry, so they have this skin disorder too, what people here call snake skin.
It is a kind of fungus as well.

One feels almost guilty being able to eat well, take a warm shower, and sleep in a comfortable bed.
It will be a tough couple of months ahead...
Good luck guys...
