thursday 28th of August 2008

Just another day on the calendar, just another day for the amigos.
Except, today the center where they go to during the day exists 3 years.
At 6:30am Jose Angel knocked on the door to bring back his little blanket.
There were a bunch of other kids with him:
La Ana had a thick knee and needed pills to bring down the swelling (Diclofenac), Manuel was hit by a motorbike and had some nasty wounds on his back and arms and legs.
The biker drove on, not even looked back to see if Manuel could get up on his own.
Francisco, whom I had given a pair of flip flops a week ago arrived here today with a big cut in his foot. Somebody had stolen one flip flop while he was sleeping a couple of days ago! More disinfecting.
Alexander just came by a minute ago. He's the hyper active kid with the big red T-shirt on the photo below . He had a nasty fungus on his feet.
Most of the kids who come by daily for their sweets, water or food came by to say goodbye and wish me a good trip to Costa Rica. How sweet! I have to go for a couple of days for my visa run.
Francis will take care of all the things while I'm away.
Jose Angel is here now, watching TV, eating some cookies.
He's very much into music of the 70's & 80's.
He wasn't even born yet back then!

I went by to one of his friends today. Memo, a painter from 'Casa de Los Tres Mundos'.
Memo told me about this place at 'La Polvora' where they give drawing and painting classes. When I get back we'll go and check it out with Jose Angel!
Then, I'll also take some pictures of some of his drawings so you can see for yourself if he's got talent!
I have to go and pack now... see you all next week!
