Saturday meals!

Saturday means hot meal day for the chavalos.
Several readers of this blog have been asking about Doña Esperanza and her food stand on the market.
Well... here she is cooking with her granddaughter and Michael in the background!

On the other picture you can see:
Juan Carlos, Ernesto & Francisco.

We finally worked out a system that gets the guys their food without too much hassle.
At 8:00 all the kids go to Doña Esperanza's food stand. Marvin has the list and the money.
He makes sure that everybody on the list gets his plate of food.
In the end he pays for it.
If any of you would like to contribute in the Saturday food project... please do!
For now the list is quite limited (12 people get food) but there are more street kids that could use a hot meal once a week. With the current help I hardly have enough to pay for one week. (The other weeks come out of my own pocket).
A donation of $25 a month pays for one day worth of meals. Please consider helping!
Talk about this website at work or in your circle of friends or family.

If anyone of you has a good idea about a way to surprise the chavalos this coming Holiday season... do let me know. Maybe if enough people respond, we can do something special!

It would be great if we could surprise Doña Esperanza as well. Ideas are welcome.
I heard she has a cataract in one of her eyes. Does anyone has any idea if it would be possible to have it removed?
