Home made cooking from now on...

Jose Angel is a very good chef. He learned by trial and error when he was 6 or 7 years old.
When his mother was sick, it was he who did the cooking.
Some days the family ate rice that was almost raw.
On other days they ate food that was so overcooked that it had turned black.
But they ate it anyway, it was the only food they had.
One day his younger brother, Agusto Cesar told Jose Angel that he had found a cockroach in his food.
It turned out to be a burnt piece of something they couldn't recognize anymore.
Now, 8 years later, whenever some member of the family finds a piece of burnt food, they still say they found a cucaracha! Funny!
We've just come back from the market where we've bought a small stove, two large cooking pots and two large metal cooking spoons. Total price: $25.
Plus $5 for some rice, beans, oil, platanos and maybe a piece of chicken.
Tomorrow I'm invited to have lunch at the house. Eyner will be there as well.
