This morning, on my way to the farmacia to pay for a series of vitamin injections for one of the kids, I ran into Michael Hernandez... One of the chavalos who lives in the streets of Granada.
He hasn't got anybody to fall back onto in case of need. No granny or aunt, nobody.
Anyway... despite his living conditions, he's always happy and smiling. Often singing!
It wasn't different this morning.
We talked a little, as we usually do. But then, when we said goodbye, see you later... he said something that makes it all worth it's while...
I can't wait for Saturday to come. I can't wait to taste the good cooking of Doña Esperanza.
Ah... los Sabados de Gloria!! The Glorious Saturdays.
And, when he said it, he had the biggest smile on his face!
His eyes twinkled, and it seemed like he could almost taste the food!
