It was one of the first sunny days in weeks, if not months on Jose Angel's birthday.
Here, he is proudly showing off his brand new set of clothes and shoes!
From here, he went to the local bakery to pick up his birthday cake before returning to Nindiri.
Sorry, I have no pictures of this cake, but I am sure that the cake was a huge success when he shared it with his brothers and friends!
Looking at the picture, it dawned on me that he is turning into a real man, little by little.
A huge difference from the scruffy little street kid that came here a couple of years ago to ask to take out a loan to start a business. Which he did!
He bought a bucket and sponge, ... to wash cars so that he could buy food for him, and on a good day, for his buddies as well!
In the meanwhile, he shined shoes, made bracelets and paintings, ran errands, sold little bags of drinking water, ...
All to be able to buy food, or gather enough money to attend school, ...
Happy birthday Jose Angel...
Keep up the good spirit, and you will be able to do anything in life that you want.
And thank you, John, James, Mark, Warren, Daniel and anybody I might have forgotten, whom have helped and supported him and his brothers now and in the past!!
