The last 18 months or so have been particularly hard for many.
Especially so for the Chavalos.
Thanks to your kind donations, we have been able to do a lot of good for them.
And we continue to do so, whenever and where ever we can!
When it is low season, in already hard times, things can get really difficult..
So difficult, that it is hard to not steal in order to survive.
I learned this the hard way, when one of my own workers was caught stealing.
The temptation was too big.
But stealing out of necessity sadly only proved to make things worse, like loosing your job worse.
I have to admire the Chavalos that they behave as good as they do.
Maybe the Saturday meals, and knowing that they have a place to go in case of need, helps.
Jonathan, one of the brothers of Eynar, is changing his days to go to college from week days to Dominicales (all day, Sunday) so that he can go and earn money for food and some extra studies that he would like to take.
One has to admire an 18 year old for being so undertaking.
The course he'd like to enroll in is "Ingles Comunicativo".
It costs $20 a month, but he is doing everything he can to take the classes.
It is nice to see that a young kid sees the importance of being able to communicate (in English).
Hopefully it will give him a good job soon.
Good Luck, Jonathan!
