Ahead of the rains...

Last year was an exceptionally wet rainy season. It happens every 7 years, when La Niña changes into El Niño. The road to the Laguna was unaccessible for days. all the families living there, both the schools, several farms, ... It was virtually impossible to get somewhere.

We did our part by getting the roads repaired, now we are trying to avoid lots of the problems altogether by making sure that the excess water can easily find a way out without taking parts of the road with it. Here, you can see our work crew build a concrete retention. In a couple more days, it will be finished. We're not expecting miracles, but we do hope that it will bake a big difference.

Hopefully, the locals won't experience the difficulties that they had last green season.
