Bon Voyage, Frank.....

Years ago, on one of his first trips to Nicaragua, Frank ran into Jose Angel and bought him breakfast.
The next day, Jose Angel made him a bracelet with his name in macramé.
For Frank it was an unexpected surprise to receive something from someone who has nothing.
He got to know the other brothers and got them all into school, and later into University.
Later on, he helped them get a decent roof over their heads by renting a nice house for them. It was the best time of their lives.
Over a year ago, we lost contact because Frank's health was really bad. About a week ago, I heard from Bruce, his brother that it wasn't going well with Frank.
Last night, he passed away in peace... he was still wearing the same bracelet that Jose Angel had made for him several years ago.

Frank always said that he wanted to be part of the brother's future.
And he sure was. What a great man, with his heart in the right place.
On Tuesday, his ashes will be scattered on the sea. His brother wrote me:

...
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and friendship, he valued his friends more than any material possession.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no public service, Frank's request was that his ashes be spread at sea which he loved almost as much as his friends and that too will be done with none of us present.
...

Bon voyage, Frank.... and thank you for everything.
