Boys will be boys...

It always starts with a silly remark or a needles fight. Before you know it, the kids are throwing rocks and they feel like they have to prove something.
For years I've been trying to explain that violence, especially amongst each other will not solve anything.
But it must be stronger than themselves, I guess.
It is a pity that it takes several stitches to remind them that violence is crazy and useless.

Yesterday, a boy came by to ask for something with long sleeves because he couldn't sleep from the mosquito bites.
This morning, he came by to say thank you, because he slept so good.
It is always nice when somebody comes by later on to say thanks!

Thanks to some financial help from a guest from Quebec, a very poor family was able to buy themselves a horse and carriage. Now they can go and cut leña (wood for cooking) and sell it to the small Pulperias (convenience stores) in their neighborhood so that they have a steady source of income.
Unfortunately, there's also a sad side to this story. The family that had to sell their carreton and horse did this out of necessity. They had a sick child and needed to sell their only source of income to save their child. Hard choices that are actually no choices at all. One wonders what they will do in the future to get by.
