Mother's day...

Today is mother's day here in Nicaragua. Several of the street kids asked me for $10 or even $20 to buy a present for their mothers. Of course, I couldn't give them that. But it was interesting to hear all their stories...
And it was also amazing that they still adore the mother that kicked them out on the street in the first place.
Of course for others it was a sad day, like for Alexander, who lost his mother a long time ago.
Also for Diego Manuel it was a very hard day...
He came by here to borrow money to bring some fresh flowers to the grave of his wife who died because of the complications of an appendicitis operation a couple of months ago. His little daughter was with him and she was all dressed up to her Sunday best to visit the grave of her mom.
