Carla is taking care of her newborn as good as she can.
Ana Maria has been coming by regularly for diapers and pampers...
I tried to explain that it won't be possible to keep on giving things for her baby.
As hard as it sounds, Carla can't expect to raise her baby with money from the Chavalo fund.
Alondra, Diego Manuel's daughter, is in the hospital in the capital again.
She has an enlarged heart and is still in danger.
Alondra more than likely was born with this condition.
For some strange reason, this young girl's heart is surrounded by fat tissue.
I don't know anything about these things, but I do hope that it can be taken away by medication.
I dread to think what an operation will look like.
Noel, our worker, has trouble getting the money from the Taxi company.
Not only was there the damage to his motorbike, there were the medical costs and the days that he couldn't go to work.
He went to file a complaint, but before they would even consider accepting it, he is obliged to buy a Sandinista party card. No wonder that they have so many so called "members".
I was talking to Corina this afternoon. She needs legal help but can not afford it.
She told me: We, poor people, we can not afford the things that we wish.
So, all we have is our prayers, and our faith in God to help us out.
It is such a hard truth...
The little boy that comes by in the morning to sell Donuts needed "chinelas", flip flops.
He gets 1 cordoba for every donut he sells. ($1 is C$22.50)
This morning, he told me that he hadn't been able to go on his donut tour because he didn't have flip flops.
Thanks to Conny from Ohio, we have a bunch of flip flops in stock for the street children.
Tomorrow, three more Chavalos will come by to get a new pair.
I met them in the street, and theirs were kept together with pieces of strings, and the soles of one of the boys flip flops were completely gone... big gaping holes!
Here is one happy boy. Tomorrow, there will be a couple more.
It is very nice to see them smile!
