It happened again... early death

What are normal procedures in any other country may cost lives here in Nicaragua.
Especially the "poor peoples hospitals" have a bad reputation.
The aunt of one of my local friends died yesterday of pneumonia.
She went to the local hospital in Malacotoya where they diagnosed her with a "gripita" or little flue.
Repeatedly she kept saying that it was more serious than that but they brushed her off saying that she was exaggerating.
3 days later, she died in a different hospital.
Another family with children that suffers a terrible loss.
It is almost unbelievable that in the 21st century people still die from simple things like pneumonia or appendicitis.
Where do these doctors get their degree, one wonders.
Fortunately, there are still the private hospitals, or the Hospital Metropolitano Vivian Pellas where you have highly qualified people working.
Unfortunately, these are out of reach for most of the Nicaraguans.
