Diego Manuel update II ...

Just talked to Diego Manuel again.
Finally, they gave him three shots to kill the pain in his leg.
I also found out why he hasn't been operated on yet.
There is NO STAFF! At the moment, they are working with a "brigada", a group of nurses and doctors that come from other hospitals.
So... here, it is considered normal that a 24 year old father who needs to attend school is left unattended without painkillers with a severely broken leg for 2 weeks and three days!
They won't operate on him before coming Monday!
He needs a metal plate in his leg that will be installed with bolts.
It took them a week and a half before they gave Diego Manuel pain killers!
Which, by the way, he had to buy himself!
Thank you so much, by the way, to those who took care of these expenses.
On top of this, he doesn't get any food in the hospital, so his family has to come over from the far end of Granada to bring him something to eat! Even on a bike, it takes almost an hour on these dirt roads!
I hope that by reading this, you realize how fortunate you all are to have good medical attention!
In case you still want to help out his family... here are the links again.
It doesn't look like he is going anywhere soon, this might take a while!!
I tried calling a private hospital to ask what it would cost to have the operation done there, just out of curiosity, but so far nobody has answered the phone yet!
Like one of our guests pointed out: they are more than likely too busy taking care of all the patients from the public hospital.
Just like that time when I took one of the street kids over there after he was attacked with a broken bottle.
They refused to attend to him and we ended up going to Cocibolca.
