Aggression... why!?

Manuel got attacked when he had to run some errands yesterday evening.
He's the younger brother of Davidcito.
His boss had given him $10 to go and buy some things.
When he left the store, someone attecked him and stole the cheese that he just bought, and the change.
But while they were robbing him, one of the thieves put a knife in Manuel's side and started wiggling it around.
It was so painful that he passed out on the spot.
They took him to the hospital, where the surgeon had the sow him up inside and out.
This morning, he came by for the medication: Antibiotics and painkillers and pills that will help the wounds to heal better.
There has always been some aggression around in certain areas, but it was usually limited to rock throwing, ...
The last year, it seems to have escalated and become more severe.

Yesterday evening, I saw some of the Chavalos sleep in the streets again.
I asked them why they weren't sleeping in the Center.
They told me that the Center, at this moment, is only open at night on Saturdays and Sundays.
There is still a lot of work to be done there, there are no beds yet, just the mattresses on the floor, ...
In the near future, they are planning on opening the Center 7 nights a week.
It takes time. It is a great initiative, and one has to start somewhere!!

See you soon!!!
