Greetings from Europe...

Just a quick message to let you know that the operation went well.
Tomorrow, the stitches come out.

I hear things in Granada are all proceeding as normal.
The Saturday food distribution is going well.

Diego Manuel has his plaster leg cast now, instead of the bandages.
He's still in a lot of pain.
I hear his brother came over to ask for some money to buy more pain killers.
It doesn't sound normal for a leg still to hurt after all this time.
But of course, I have never broken anything and wouldn't know for sure.
The cast still hast to be worn for 3 or 4 more weeks.

Remember I told you about some thieves stealing the iron from a bridge over the main road coming into Granada?

Here's the situation now...
Because of the heavy rains, what was left of the bridge, has completely colapsed.
I bet those thieves never thought that their stupidity would have such serious consequences.

All traffic: trucks, buses, taxis, cars, ... has to cross a smaller bridge now that goes right through an area that isn't supposed to get this kind of flow through their narrow streets. The bridge was designed about 200 years ago for horse drawn carriages and started to show a lot of wear and tear, recently.

The thieves got an estimated $1000 from the stolen steel.
To have this bridge and road repaired will cost a fortune.
Tax money that could have been spent on more important things.
