Hi guys. Here's an update on life in Granada.
Diego Manuel is feeling a lot better. He still has a limp when he walks, and some pain, but this is improving by the day.
A couple of days ago, he visited me here in the city. But because he didn't have the money to buy an inner tube for his bike, he had walked the distance. Almost two hours on foot.
He called it exercise! I don't know what to call it, madness?
Anyway, the improvement is huge, and he has taken the opportunity to do an odd job when one pops up.
Alondra has been sick for a couple of days (fever, sour throat), but she is feeling great again.
One of our guests (thanks Mike) had left a bag of coloring books and pencils that helped her get through those days.
She's already back in school, showing off her coloring skills to her friends!
(Little) Michael went into a coma a couple of days ago. His buddies got him an ambulance. Solidarity is still a huge thing amongst the Chavalos. He's back in the streets doing his "normal" stuff like singing for hours and sniffing glue. He's still on pills (motilium)
A couple of nights ago, Augusto Cesar called me up around midnight to let me know that his brother Jonathan needed to be brought to the hospital of Masaya with an ambulance urgently. He too had passed out. A coulple of days later, Jonathan already could go back home. Diagnose: anemia and gastritis. He needs better food than just rice and beans.
Again, Diego Manuel wishes to express his gratitude to everybody that helped him out over this past period of bad luck and misery. Thank you for bringing pills, clothes, bags of rice and beans, helping pay the (hospital) bills and for the incredible mental support!
