A funny thing happened this week. Out on the farm, we have built this water tower that we fill up with water from our well twice a week.
It takes about two hours to fill it up, so one can't just wait there until it is full.
Well, this week, Raul was busy finishing some other chores when one of the neighbors came to call him and let him know that the huge tank was full and overflowing.
When he arrived at the spot, he noticed that all the neighbors were there. They had filled up buckets and cooking pots as they have no well or water service. Several were still soaping up under their makeshift shower. Luckily, the water that ran over was put to good use! Nothing got spilled.
Thank you, Dave for already thinking of doing something special for the Chavalos this Christmas. With some help, we will be able to give some Christmas joy to the street children again.
It is nice for them to know that there are people out there that actually care, more than their own parents do.
For a long while, the fund was good, but it didn't get too much donations lately and is now quite low.
Most of the help received went to medical costs of Diego Manuel and other people in need.
If you care to help out, please do so by clicking on the Paypal link, or by bringing flip flops, T-shirts,  ...
The coloring books and pencils that were donated by Mike were a huge success as well.
Anything, actually, that can make these kids forget for a while about their daily routine in the streets.
