Bismarck is a 17 year old shoeshine kid. He's the source of income for his whole family.
Because business is kind of slow at the moment, he doesn't have time to go to school.
Often, at the end of the day he has earned $2.50, sometimes less.
Hardly enough to feed everybody in his family.
Daniel from Canada is taking care of him now. This gives him the opportunity to attend school.
Bismarck is even studying English now. It might be a way to find a better job.
$25 a week is enough to make sure that everybody is well fed, and that he has time left to attend college. Here is a picture of him with his shoe shine case.
