Rainy season in Nicaragua...
This truck got stuck on the way to a hole in the road, a couple of kilimeters ahead, that needed about 30 truckloads of rocks to fill it up.
They had to ditch their load because they couldn't even get there. The city workers forgot to bring a shovel, but luckily we had one that they could use.
This is the situation when it hasn't rained for a while...
I won't go near this place while it is raining!
Buses pass by here several times a day to pick up and return people to the market, with their wares.
But also with tons of students going to school every day.
The ones who have money to take the bus, anyway.
Others go on foot, but often have to take off shoes and socks in order to pass some white river situations!
That's called dedication... a 1 hour walk to school through mud and gushing rain!
Leaving the Pali supermarket, I ran into this mother whose daughter was very sick.
She was very weak and pale.
The mother showed me the recepy from the Centro de Salud, but didn't have the money to buy the medication.
This is one of the reasons that so many young children don't make it.
Usually, it's only a matter of $10 or so.
But if you don't have them...
*UPDATE*
I just learned from my workers that this woman used to be a glue sniffer.
Fortunately, she gave up on that terrible drug and got her act together. She is a responsible mother now.
Unfortunately, she was pregnant with this girl, her oldest, when she was still sniffing glue.
It really afected the girls' health.
Funds are running low... I suppose the economical crisis is tough for everybody.
And G**gle has sent me an email that it is against their rules to ask visitors to C***k on their A**s.
I hope that you won't forget doing so!
